Komro Sales & Services, Inc. is a family-owned company started in 1960. Komro Sales employs approximately 90 people consisting of salesmen, engineers, designers, equipment installers, crew leaders, and technicians. This helps guarantee a seamless design/build process supported from start to finish.

Komro Sales designs and builds large dairy facilities all around the country. The company’s focus is to design/build facilities which include mechanical manure processing, ventilation, for cattle housing and comfort. Komro Sales is also an experienced dealer of equipment such as Bobcat, Gravely, and Ariens along with many other ag implement product lines. We also have experience in sales and installation of irrigation pivots and grain bins as part of our offerings.

With over 60 years of experience, Komro Sales is focused on delivering solutions and services to make our customers successful. We have equipment rental, multiple locations across 3 states, OTC parts sales, equipment service shops, and work in fabrication and production to fulfill the needs of our customers. Position Summary:

Komro Sales & Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller for a newly created position within our company. The Controller will oversee the accounting department to provide sound financial reporting and strategic insights to help make informed business decisions. This role will interact with various aspects of the company, including inventory, project management, marketing, sales, parts, and service. The Controller will also work closely with leaders of these departments to ensure cohesive and efficient operations. We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who can help keep the company financially healthy and increase efficiency and profitability in day-to-day operations. The Controller will have a direct line to the ownership group and help influence decisions in our fast paced yet nimble business model. Komro Sales is an all hands on deck company with a get-it-done attitude no matter what position people hold. We have a high standard of quality and service that everyone takes pride in delivering to the customers we serve no matter how big or small.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Payroll
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s objectives
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Develop and stabilize internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Partner with senior management to provide them with accurate financial information to drive strategic decision-making
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Lead financial planning and analysis activities
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and improved efficiency
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team
  • Assist in the management of company-wide financial processes, including project management and inventory
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and service departments to drive financial success
  • Foster and maintain relationships with external auditors and consultants
  • Develop long-term financial strategies to support continued company growth and potential expansion into new markets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial role
  • Proven experience as a controller or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience in interacting with various departments within a company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or agricultural industry
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and/or Accumatica
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
