As an Advanced Naturalist Guide, you will lead immersive eco-tours and mindful outdoor journeys in the reforested area of the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary. This role requires a strong passion for being outside in nature and understanding ecology, conservation, and Hawaiian cultural history. You will guide guests in transformative experiences that foster a deep connection with nature, wellness, and environmental stewardship. Additionally, you will be contributing to a positive team environment, malama ‘aina efforts, and store operations.

Required Qualifications
- Genuine, patient, flexible, and a love for being outside in nature!
- Passion for ecological education, conservation, and sustainability
- Engaging storytelling skills to convey ecological concepts
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, balancing guided tours, store operations, and projects
- Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth in natural science, holistic wellness, and environmental stewardship
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, Biology, or related natural sciences - Highly Preferred
- Previous experience as a naturalist guide, environmental educator, or in a related field
- Knowledge of Hawaii’s native plant species and cultural significance
- Experience in developing educational resources, workshops, and training programs
- Ability to create and manage community-based conservation projects
- Experience in mindfulness practices such as forest bathing, meditation, or wellness-based nature experiences
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and educational eco-tours in the Kona Cloud Forest
- Mentor and provide hands-on training for new and existing naturalist guides
- Develop and facilitate two advanced naturalist workshops annually
- Lead and coordinate community Mālama ʻĀina restoration events at KCFS
- Educate guests on the interconnectedness of the cloud forest ecosystem, conservation efforts, and Hawaiian cultural history
- Represent the Sanctuary at environmental and community events
- Support Village Store operations and guest engagement
- Oversee safety protocols and ensure all participants’ well-being during excursions
- Assist in the creation of educational materials and conservation initiatives
