Our dive guides are the makers and molders of the experience we sell. Your role is to both entertain and delight our customers with aloha while ensuring a safe diving experience for all. As a guide assigned to take care of your customers you are expected to be there for them at all times while on the boat. This includes chatting and getting to know them and their preferences.

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Must possess the ability to communicate and connect with people easily

Additional Functions (instructors):

  • Teach courses in accordance with agency standards
  • Maintain a professional and orderly classroom environment
  • Prepare all equipment, paperwork, and materials to conduct classes
  • Generate and complete required documentation according to agency and company expectations

Qualifications:

  • Currently certified in First Aid & CPR, as defined by agency specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers
  • Must be willing to perform random Drug Screenings to satisfy coast guard requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Strong Swimming ability.
  • Must be able to work in various physical environments & conditions
  • Ability to load and unload scuba tanks and equipment repeatedly over a long period of time, up to 50lbs
  • Ability to bend and squat
  • Ability to climb ladders while carrying 50 lbs

Physical Requirements (Instructors):

  • Ability to maintain control of a group of at least 6 students and perform rescues in or out of water as necessary

About the Job:

  • We provide Hawaii's highest level of service.
  • Dive groups are kept small and personal with a low customer to guide ratio.
  • Brief customers on operation of all rental gear provided.
  • Provide divers with a dive site briefing for each new site including all points of interest as well as safety hazards or potential hazards due to weather and environmental factors.
  • Debrief divers with what animals were seen and ask how the experience was. Work through issues and take into account for the following dive.
  • Go above and beyond. Happy customers come back, send their friends, tell the internet about us, and tip more...$
  • Report to the captain while on board and report to the Shop Manager while on shore.
  • Look after the customer’s safety in and out of the water. This should be your first consideration before any others. Their well being is paramount to our livelihood.

Requirements:

  • Keep a professional appearance
  • Strong communicator that is able to connect with guests easily and in a professional manner
  • Maintain current CPR/EFT/O2 training
  • Must be willing to perform random Drug Screenings to satisfy coast guard requirements
