Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Material Coordinator
BUSINESS UNIT: Springfield, OH
REPORTS TO: System Support Manager
DATE: July 14, 2022
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for executing warehouse improvement projects by working closely with warehouse management and lean teams. Will also be preforming Cycle Count activities which is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory. Duties also include miscellaneous stores/stockroom activities to maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of material receipts, transfers, and issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executing Warehouse improvement projects by organizing bin locations for current product and new products.
- Responsible for completing physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Investigate and reconcile all variances in counts in a timely manner
- Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them).
- Coordinate and Integrate efforts across operational departments to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Work with all departments on end-to-end warehouse flow based on improvement projects. For example, Receiving, Material picking, Production, and Logistics.
- Use computers (including handheld units) to process paperwork in SAP and Microsoft Office
- Lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Certified in the use of equipment to assist in the movement of product (overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- General knowledge of standard warehouse practices and procedures along with inventory control software.
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Must use professional oral and written communications skills
- Produce work independently, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
