POSITION TITLE: Environment, Health and Safety (HSE) Coordinator
Reports to the Director of HSE – Region Americas.
- Implement and follow-up on region health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Provide safety leadership for the Springfield, Ohio KHA (Konecranes Hoist Americas) Factory and Operations. In addition, safety support shall be provided on a as need basis to other local facilities of Konecranes, such as but not limited to the Konecranes Region Americas Head Quarters, and support staff.
- Provide technical aspect and support to area of responsibility (AOR) for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Assist or act as backup resource to other Safety Managers (all business units) and the Director of HSE – Region Americas.
- Be the subject matter expert to the area of responsibility on the Region Americas HSE Management System and compliance.
- Own HSE Database (ARMOR) for AOR, leading / co-lead HSE investigations, including near misses, injuries, vehicle incidents, environmental and property damage events.
- Tracking and follow up on root cause(s) of HSE investigations and on time completion of corrective action plans.
- Reporting to AOR leadership on HSE Leading metrics on a weekly and monthly basis, not limited to, but such as, on time completion of corrective action plans, driver behavior, monthly safety training completion and various inspections
- Establish routine to be engaged with frontline employees via hands-on, proactive engagement and / or technological means, i.e., Microsoft Teams, mobile phone, etc.
- Maintain relationships with customers’ contacts and / or HSE Professionals
- Provide Safety and Health related information to responsible manager/person to assist in their completing vendor pre-qualification questionnaires and packages
- Create and sustain effective business relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders within area of responsibility, i.e., Sales, Mods, Planning, New Equipment
- Represent company and interaction with HSE regulatory agencies
- Assist local management as needed with the required training and training logistics
- Conduct periodic safety meetings, safety training, safety audits, risk assessments and other safety related assistance at branch level and job site locations with emphasis on job sites
- Other tasks as required and assigned
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety or equivalent preferred. Willingness to obtain safety certifications such as CSP, OHST, CHST and CMSP.
EXPERIENCE: Internships and/or one or more years of safety experience in occupational safety and health within an industrial manufacturing facility is required. Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, DOT, and applicable EPA standards. Strong organizational skills. Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written). Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft® Office. Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize. Must be a highly motivated and motivational team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
TRAVEL: Travel expectancy up to 10-30% with occasional to frequent overnights.
