This role requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in international relations, law enforcement, public policy, or a related field, as well as one to three years of experience with U.S. law enforcement or military, including experience in briefing in English.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Police Advisor Level I will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Provide senior-level subject matter expertise in program planning, designing, technical assistance, and implementation related to law enforcement and public safety initiatives.
- Provide senior-level management expertise in specialized fields of expertise, as well as functional and technical expertise to lead complex, large projects to deliver client solutions and/or manage operations of multiple projects.
- Leverage high-level expertise and ability to solve complex and unusual managerial issues while exercising independent judgment.
- Assist senior leadership in the development of program strategies and implementation related to law enforcement and public safety initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within short time constraints and during times of rapidly developing events.
- Utilize experience working in international or peacekeeping missions and/or related international development activities.
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in international relations, law enforcement, public policy, or a related field.
- One to three years of experience with U.S. law enforcement or military, including experience in briefing in English.
- Knowledge of and skill in the correct usage of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and style.
- For a position in the U.S., must be a U.S. Citizen or legal U.S. resident; for a position outside the U.S., any citizenship (U.S., Third Country National (TCN), and Local National (LN)) is allowable.
- The Police Advisor Level I plays a crucial role in providing senior-level subject matter expertise and management expertise in the field of law enforcement and public safety.
- The successful candidate should have a strong background in law enforcement or military operations, with experience working in international or peacekeeping missions and related international development activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role.
