Supply Chain Manager
Dayton, MN | Direct-Hire | $105,000 – $115,000 (Flexible) | Hybrid
Konik is partnering with a local plastic manufacturing company that is seeking to add a Supply Chain Manager to its team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing all raw materials and goods in support of manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional looking for a new opportunity in a laid-back, flexible environment that offers the ability to work remotely one day a week.
Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities :
Procurement & Supplier Relations
- Lead negotiations with approved suppliers to secure raw materials at competitive rates.
- Establish and manage leveraged supplier agreements when advantageous.
- Maintain consistent communication with vendors and customers to confirm material availability.
- Issue and manage purchase orders in response to production demands.
- Set up and monitor blanket purchase orders to mitigate stock shortages.
- Collaborate with brokers to manage and dispose of obsolete materials efficiently.
Inventory & Logistics Management
Provide oversight for inventory control processes, ensuring compliance with company policies.Act as a backup for month-end inventory reconciliation, supporting the Inventory Lead.Execute precise month-end inventory reports on the 1st of each month, maintaining accuracy within a $20K variance.Guarantee all purchased materials and supplies meet quality standards and are received at reasonable costs.Work alongside production teams to anticipate and plan for material needs, including additives.Coordinate with colorant suppliers to ensure timely color matching and availability.Promptly address any material contamination issues and arrange returns within the supplier’s specified timeframe (7-10 days or per agreement).Cost Control & Process Optimization
Continuously identify, develop, and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and cost savings.Monitor and track cost-saving initiatives for senior leadership reporting.Partner with the shipping manager to optimize outbound material logistics and reduce shipping expenses.Engage with cross-functional teams to guarantee timely availability of materials and supplies for scheduled and urgent orders.Work in tandem with department heads to refine internal processes and promote company-wide operational improvements.Leadership & Compliance
Maintain thorough documentation of inventory procedures, purchasing processes, and safety protocols.Uphold company values, demonstrating strong ethical principles and professional integrity.Perform additional responsibilities as designated by the CEO.Supply Chain Manager Requirements
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with vendors, internal teams, and management.Strong organizational abilities with the foresight to prevent supply shortages.Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work within a team and complete assigned tasks efficiently.Technological proficiency, including the ability to utilize software tools for procurement and data entry.Expertise in negotiation and cost management to drive favorable purchasing terms.10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a solid background in purchasing and procurement.Benefits :
