Summary & Essential Responsibilities:
The Receiving & Shipping Associate will play a crucial role in the intake, processing, and outbound shipment of inventory and products within the fulfillment center. This role involves verifying shipments, inspecting product quality, organizing inventory, preparing orders for shipment, and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods. The Associate will ensure that all products are properly received, sorted, stored, and shipped according to company standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive and unload shipments from carriers, ensuring that all products match the purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Report any damages or shortages identifiable upon delivery to the carriers immediately.
- Sort and count incoming goods for later inspection and final verification.
- Inspect items for quantity, quality, damage, defects, or discrepancies and document any issues for further action.
- Properly label and tag received products, including barcode scanning when applicable.
- Sort and organize received products in the appropriate storage locations to ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments, including shipment logs, BOLs, packing slips, and other related documents.
- Ensure received goods are stored according to inventory guidelines (e.g., FIFO or LIFO methods) to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Communicate with the Order Fulfillment Supervisor regarding any discrepancies, damaged goods, or delays in shipments.
- Assist with restocking inventory shelves and updating inventory records to reflect new stock levels.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company and customer requirements.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments, ensuring correct products and quantities are included.
- Generate and print shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickup and delivery of outgoing shipments.Load packages onto appropriate trucks, pallets, or delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- ·Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and report any shipping issues or delays.
- Maintain organization of the shipping area to streamline packaging and loading processes.
- Work closely with the inventory, picking, and receiving teams to ensure smooth workflow and order fulfillment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and warehouse best practices to minimize shipping errors and damages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored at the end of each day. Additionally, contribute to the cleanliness of common areas by disposing of waste, wiping down surfaces, and keeping shared spaces tidy to promote a safe, efficient, and professional work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and core values.
- Provide support to other departments as needed to ensure the fulfillment center operates efficiently and effectively.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or shipping and receiving is preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse management practices.
- Forklift operator experience
- OSHA safety certification is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, to meet operational demands.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in verifying shipments and inspecting products.
- Basic math skills for counting and sorting incoming goods.
- Good organizational skills to maintain accurate records and keep the receiving area organized.
- Effective communication skills to report issues and coordinate with the Team Lead and other departments.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems or barcode scanning technology is a plus.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate and support other departments as needed.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
