About the Role As a Chemist, reporting to the EVP of Research & Development, you will be an integral part of the Product Development team. You will focus on formulating innovative hair care and styling products. What You will Do : Innovation & Collaboration : -Development of new hair care and styling formulations, setting new industry standards for quality and innovation-Create prototypes, monitor pilots to full-scale production, ensuring the transition is efficient, cost-effective, and adheres to the highest quality standards-Collaborate with a diverse array of cross functional teams ensuring hair care product development aligns with market demands and company goals-Drive the pursuit of hair care and styling innovations, leveraging deep industry knowledge and analytical skills to keep us at the forefront of professional hair care and stylingLaboratory Analysis : -Strict compliance with GMP and GLP standards in the lab, championing best practices in every aspect of the formulation process-Travel when necessary to our third-party contract manufacturers to support the production team with scale up of new formulation, compounding / production issues, QC issues, etc.-Troubleshoot formula, raw material issues, finding replacements whenever necessary-Works on-site at Product Innovation Center and new product laboratory -Perform all relevant formula related testing Data Management : -Upstream communication collaboration with team -Monitor and ensure the quality of all new products in terms of stability, compatibility, micro, safety, and regulatory requirements Who You Are : Have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude, leaving a positive impression on everyone you interact withCollaborate seamlessly with cross-functional stakeholders, fostering a cohesive team environment-Strong time management skills and able to act with a sense of urgency-Highly organized, detail oriented and efficient multitasker-Self-starter and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance-Comfortable wearing many hats and moving fluidly between tasksUtilize relevant industry jargon and terminology consistently in both verbal and written communications-Act and propose new ideas and solutions before asked-You are positive, upbeat, and friendly—with a can-do attitude and a knack for solving problems-Self-described beauty enthusiast, passionate about hair care Skills : -Formulation skills in personal or home care lines-Raw material knowledge, FDA / EU / UK cosmetic directive guidelines -Strong knowledge and understanding of compounding / production equipment and facilities-Strong knowledge and understanding of compounding / production equipment and facilities -Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, always looking for ways to improve and promote quality-Observe safety and security procedures, determine appropriate action beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly Education : Bachelor's degree in science (, cosmetic chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science) required Experience : Minimum of 3 years' work experience in personal care formulation required Compensation depends on experience but is typically 80 - 90k.
