ABOUT THE POSITION
The NJ Education Department is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced part-time K-Pop Dance Instructor to lead engaging and structured K-Pop dance classes for elementary school students (Kindergarten – 5th Grade). This position requires the instructor to create a supportive, fun, and educational environment where students can explore self-expression through dance while developing rhythm, coordination, and confidence. The instructor will teach twice a week for two hours per day as part of an 8-week summer program in Tenafly, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, choreograph, and teach K-Pop dance routines tailored for young learners.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Engage with students and parents to build positive relationships and foster enthusiasm for dance.
- Prepare students for studio performances or live showcases, if applicable.
- Maintain a safe, energetic, and inclusive class environment that encourages learning and enjoyment.
- Ensure proper classroom setup and cleanup before and after each class.
- Manage classroom dynamics without a teaching assistant.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Strong background in K-pop dance and performance, with a passion for teaching young students.
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience, preferably with elementary-aged students.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, choreograph, and execute dance routines suitable for children.
- Energetic and positive attitude, capable of motivating and managing young learners.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
- Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
- Availability: Must be able to commute to Tenafly, NJ, and commit to the full 8-week summer program.
Compensation
$40/hr
