Korn Ferry has partnered with our client in their search for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Analyst to manage and oversee the company’s accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) functions. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of both receivables and payables, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers, and supporting the month-end close process. We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset who can streamline operations, improve cash flow, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete process for both A/R and A/P, including invoicing, collections, cash application, vendor invoice review, approval, and payment processing.
- Monitor customer accounts, following up on overdue balances and ensuring timely payments.
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting system.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, procurement, and operational teams to resolve billing issues, discrepancies, and vendor disputes.
- Track and report on outstanding receivables and payables, ensuring smooth cash flow and avoiding payment penalties.
- Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and implement credit policies to manage customer credit limits and mitigate bad debts.
- Ensure payments are made according to agreed-upon terms, supporting positive vendor and customer relationships.
Leadership & Process Optimization:
- Lead and mentor junior staff in A/R and A/P functions, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness in both A/R and A/P operations.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in A/R, A/P, or general accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and manage relationships with both vendors and customers.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
