Compensation: $115,000–$138,000
What You Will Do:
Responsible for managing the expense and award tracking, transaction logs, financial bookkeeping, reporting, and audit preparation for all spending and vouchering related to bio industrial pilot plant network, including the build-out of pilot plants. Will follow existing/develop new processes and procedures to support financial and business services operations.
Most of the company clients’ federal funding is governed by 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance). The Analyst will be responsible for managing financial and grant accounting, business services, and compliance activities specifically related to the network of manufacturing facilities; will work closely with business stakeholders, existing grant accounting team, accounting and financial operations team, third-party service providers for accounting, business services, and reporting infrastructure.
- Follow processes ensuring that financial activity meets all audit and reporting requirements (including as a “major nonprofit organization” as defined in 2 CFR 200 and as a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization.)
- Collaborate on developing budgets for federal, state, and other awards relating to the pilot plant network (including review of initial proposals and ongoing revisions.)
- Develop systematic analysis and tracking of awards and subawards.
- Review and ensure completeness in related expenses (payroll allocation, assigning external purchases to appropriate account categories, subawards, grant funds, etc.)
- Audit and approve expenditures to ensure compliance.
- Monitor spending associated with pilot plant network.
- Interact with Federal and State government stakeholders to ensure vouchering for advances and expense reimbursement (to include preparation for potential government audits of assigned programs.)
- Interact with vendors and/or sub-recipients to ensure invoice submission.
- Work closely with accounting operations to ensure proper data is captured; perform account reconciliation; research, analyze and resolve discrepancies for assigned accounts.
- Monitor capital purchase requests to ensure that accounts are reflected appropriately in respective system of records (e.g., NetSuite) and that the assets are recorded and depreciated appropriately.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
- 10 years of progressive experience in the accounting field, including 3-5 years of prior experience in Federal or State grant accounting required.
- Experience with accounting application required (highly preferred: NetSuite for accounting transactions)
- Experience in account reconciliation and the ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies; experience in grant accounting with transactions across multiple business entities preferred.
- Experience with and understanding of Title 2 of the Code of Federal Regulations (2 CFR 200) required
