Manual Machinist
Position Overview
Ability to set up and operate manual machinery for metal fabrication within precision tolerances. Able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other devices. Can generate time estimates for completing tasks. Can weld / solder tubular parts in vertical and horizontal positions.
Shift: • 1st shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:• Reads and interprets blueprints• Operates manual lathe, drill press, mills, and hand tools• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner• Performs daily cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on machine shop equipment
Skills & Qualifications:• Problem solving skills• Mechanical Aptitude• Able to perform and keep track of multiple tasks• Experience with conventional Machine Shop equipment• School Classes in related field and experience required• Proficient blueprint reading• Use of precision measuring equipment• Ability to work with close tolerances• Understanding of work quality• Self-Motivated to get assigned work completed• Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment• Welding/silver soldering experience a plus• Take pride in the work you perform
