Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented litigation paralegal to join our team and provide skilled support to our attorneys in all phases of the litigation process. This position supports one of our associates whose practice area includes representing victims of medical malpractice. The ideal candidate will be comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in trial litigation
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage a complex, busy and demanding case load
- Possess time management and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines while remaining flexible to respond to frequent changes and delays
- Have strong analytical, drafting and proofreading skills. Attention to detail is critical
- Proven track record of working effectively in a team setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly Encouraged Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certification
- 2 years of Medical Malpractice Litigation Experience
Responsibilities:
Document Preparation & Formatting
- Drafting, editing, proofreading and cite-checking trial court pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Ensuring format compliance with court rules and standards
- Assisting attorney in preparation of hearings, trials and other legal proceedings
Case & Project Management
- Multitasking and successfully managing a variety of demands
- Assisting with case planning and strategy
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring timely filings
Communication & Coordination
- Working closely with staff and attorneys
- Providing sensitive and proactive client support
- Strong oral and written communication with internal team, court clerks and opposing counsel regarding litigation procedures and case updates
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
