What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Kosmos Cement?
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Maintain general plant housekeeping according to Company standards
- Use hand tools to repair equipment, as directed
- Receive verbal instructions from Supervisor, Leadman, or Control Room Operator on shift
- Read instruction reports and instructions
- Perform all job tasks according to plant safety standards and wear required PPE at all times
- Participate in yearly trainings, as directed by management / HR
QUALIFICATIONS
No previous experience required, but experience in cement / construction industry is a plus. Applicants must be safety-minded, with a strong work ethic and desire to grow professionally in the skilled trades.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic reading, writing, math skills
- Collaborative, team-based mindset
WORK HOURS
The Kosmos plant is a 24/7 operation. Applicants must be available to work various shift-based schedules, as required by business needs. General Laborers begin with a set schedule of 7:00am - 3:30pm (with overtime opportunities), Monday - Friday. Weekend work may be required.
BENEFITS & PAY
The starting wage for General Laborer is $26.34 / hour. Overtime and double-time rates apply.
