Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and drywall repair and painting. This role is essential to ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our residents by maintaining the quality and functionality of apartment units and common areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure apartments and facilities are in excellent condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
- Diagnose and fix plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and water heater maintenance.
- Address electrical problems, including wiring, lighting, and outlet repairs.
- Patch and repair drywall, ensuring smooth finishes and quality painting in unit turnovers and common areas.
- Respond promptly to service requests and resolve issues efficiently to minimize inconvenience for residents.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce future issues and improve equipment lifespan.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and communicate effectively with the property management team.
- Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Assist with other maintenance projects as needed, including landscaping, appliance repair, and carpentry.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in apartment maintenance or a related field.
- Proficiency in HVAC systems, with certifications (EPA, HVAC, or similar) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Skilled in drywall patching, sanding, and painting techniques.
- Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to handle after-hours emergencies as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
