POSITION SUMMARY:
Grind gates from castings to stated specification on procedure cards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and follow all procedure cards.
- Grind gates from castings by operating a grinding machine. Hold castings by hand and manipulate casting in such a manner to achieve desired result without causing damage to casting.
- Count and verify count with proper route sheet.
- Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements):
- LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Aiblity to print and speak simple sentences.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
- REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and sparks. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet or humid environments and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PPE
- Hand protection is required to be worn during operation.
- Protective sleeves are required to be worn during operation.
- Compressed breathable air respirators are required during operation.
- Hearing protection is required when working in the Aftercast department.
- Eye protection is required in all manufacturing area.
- PPE is worn for the entire shift (example - 8, 10, 12 hours) less break and lunch times.
1-weekend 3rd shift-Saturday, Sunday, Monday 7:00pm-7:00am-$18.33
