Requirements
- One year experience in licensed daycare setting
- State of Oregon background check
- Current CPR Certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Complete (free) online Child Abuse & Neglect Class
- Complete (free) Health & Safety Class
- Be willing to complete 15 hours of professional training per year (paid and free options available)
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in Early Childhood Teaching
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- Childhood Development Associate certification
- Ability to relocate (to help open future centers)
Job Description
- Care for children and encourage learning via emerging interests, play and hands-on experiences
- Monday through Friday only (weekends off)
- Eight-hour shifts (daytime business hours)
- Breaks during shift with Employee area provided
Job Responsibilities
- Tend to the physical care, safety and well-being of children in your class
- Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive classroom environment
- Develop a positive relationship with each child, while encouraging self-esteem and self-discipline
- Establish a positive relationship with each child's family and share about the child's day, including daily documentation through the Famly app. (training provided)
- Apply best practices in classroom management and behavior guidance to children (with support from Co-Teachers and Directors)
- Plan, write, and implement weekly lesson plans based on children’s interests within an emergent curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach (training provided)
- Review each child’s progress and revise lesson plans as they grow and develop
- Collaborate with Co-Teachers to further best teaching practices
- Communicate with Directors whatever will help better KKEC
- Participate in staff meetings, activities, and free professional development trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. organize classroom environments, multi-task, be flexible, clean center equipment, sanitize toys, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
