SUMMARY :
The Certified Nursing Assistant is a non-professional who, under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in providing direct patient care by performing non-professional nursing duties. He / She may handle human blood and other potentially infectious and / or hazardous materials, which may result in a possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and / or harmful elements. The position may care for patients in the following age groups : adolescent and geriatric. The Certified Nursing Assistant position is accountable to the Director of Med / Surg.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum Experience : One (1) Year experience in an acute care facility preferred
- Required License / Certification : Current California C.N.A Certification, BLS; ABM / MAB / CPI certification within (90 days upon hire) annually thereafter
- Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language
- Physical Requirements : Possesses the physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, e.g., visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions. Review physical activities and working conditions for this position
