KPC Promise Hospital of Phoenix : Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist, the Senior Pharmacy Tech performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare medications automated dispensing machines with a supply of unit dose medications, procure, and fills requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies to nursing units.
The Senior Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of the director of pharmacy, will also have primary responsibility to 1) manage the pharmacy inventory; 2) oversee and provide training to other pharmacy technicians for ordering of medications and supplies; 3) ensure the maintenance and certification of all IV room equipment (laminar air flow hood, repeater pump, etc.); 4) provide training and certification for all pharmacy staff in the preparation of compounded sterile products and ensure compliance with all pertinent laws, rules, and regulations (including annual certification of sterile technique); and 4) manage the pharmacy technician work schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Two to four years of pharmacy experience preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
