Summary
KR Contracting is hiring for the position of Trainer in the Washington DC Metro Area. The Trainer must be an individual of unquestionable integrity who displays a mature attitude and exercises good judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.
- Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
- Develop and conduct required training programs for new hires and current employees.
- Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities for program effectiveness.
- Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills.
- Develop remedial/alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
- Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
- Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos or lectures.
- Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
- Conducts quality assurance inspections at firearms training events.
- Provides instruction to new hires and current employees as required to maintain and improve marksmanship skills.
The Trainer must meet the requirements listed below:
- National Rifle Association (NRA) Law Enforcement Instructor certification, or able to meet all NRA Law Enforcement (LE) eligibility requirements.
- Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement, and/or military
- Experience in security operations or other functions of the security industry.
- Must be available to work a schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to achieve and maintain an FPS clearance.
- Secret/Top Secret Clearance preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or above.
- Must have substantive prior professional law enforcement experience and background is a requirement.
- Pass company and/or client-specific training as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be an U.S. Citizen and read, write, and speak English
- Trainers must have background with a minimum of two (2) years of training experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement or commercial/industrial security force service.
- Must have experience in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to speak in front of large groups of people
