NCCCO Crane Training Instructor

Performance Training Solutions (PTS) is accepting applications for a full-time Mobile Hydraulic Crane instructor to teach at its training location in Thornville, Ohio.

PTS offers accelerated training to provide the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for entry-level employment opportunities. The training is a combination of classroom activities and practical operating time.

Description: Mobile crane instructors conduct small-size classes, largely hands-on and outdoors, to assist students in gaining the knowledge and skills needed to operate both swing-cab and fixed-cab mobile hydraulic telescopic cranes.

Hours of instruction are Monday through Thursday, from 7:00am to 4:30pm and Friday, 7:00am to 11:00am.

Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have high school diploma or GED (minimum); a valid Driver's License; 3 years of verifiable job experience operating mobile hydraulic cranes; and ability to use a computer for data entry and e-mail purposes. Prefer NCCCO certification operator certification. Willing to obtain/maintain NCCCO Practical Crane Examiner Certification and ensure the program meets accrediting standards. Physical requirements include ability to stand for long periods (6-8 hours per day); and work in all weather conditions. Good communication skills are a must, but teaching experience is not required. Must have physical, intellectual, and leadership abilities needed to perform the duties of crane operation, basic skills, and classroom instruction. Must be team-oriented and results driven. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements, have previous teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Willing to undergo criminal background check.

New instructors will work with an experienced staff member and receive training in instructional techniques. Lesson outlines and visual aids are provided.
