Kraftsman Trailers is a direct-to-customer manufacturer of top-quality, attractive open trailers. Kraftsman builds and sells paver & asphalt, heavy equipment, fender equipment and tilt, and gooseneck trailers from its locations in NC, and delivers trailers to customers across the United States.
The Controller position at Kraftsman will be responsible for the development and oversight of Kraftsman Inc. (and related companies) financial management framework and strategy, and contribute to the development and achievement of the organization’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the Controller will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance and general business operational realms. Strategy, Vision and Leadership
- The Controller will focus on being a proactive financial steward, driving decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis, optimizing cash flow, ensuring compliance, implementing robust internal controls, and actively collaborating with other departments to contribute to overall business growth, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adapting to technological advancements within the finance function.
- Play a vital role in developing the sustained financial viability of the company and will be directly accountable for all areas of financial control, internal reporting, budget preparation, fiscal reporting and audit intervention.
- Advise Kraftsman ownership and other key members of senior management on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping ownership and other members of the leadership team informed of all critical issues.
- Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in vendor and expansion/acquisition-related activities
Team Development/Leadership
- Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and administrative teams.
- Promote a culture of quality performance and continuous improvement that values accountability and excellent customer experiences
- Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
- Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
Operations
- Preparation and analysis of financial reports and must be performed on a monthly basis
- Monitor and oversee all accounting operations
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company performance.
- Work with all departments as lead to produce annual budgets and forecasts
- Must ensure company is compliant with local, state, and federal government entities
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
- Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
- Ensure Kraftsman is adhering to both strategic and shorter-term planning, delivering status reports to ownership and leadership
- Provide analytical support toKraftsman’s leadership team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.
- Contribute to establishment and performance of cross-functional operational software such as CRM, DMS
Qualifications
- Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in business administration a plus
- Minimum 5 years experience in a senior management role, ideally with experience in both company growth and internal governance
- M&A experience, company creation experience a plus
- Proven track record of success facilitating organizational change and development within a growing organization
- Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Personnel management experience required
- Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
- Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
- Self-reliant, good problem solver, results-oriented
- Professional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
