The Role
We have an opening for a Corporate Development Partner on our Bio Health Operating Team. The Corporate Development function advises portfolio companies on financing strategy and structure, supports execution of private capital raises (equity and debt), and provides insights on public capital markets (including IPO planning).
The role will focus on health technology portfolio companies and investors, plus provide select support to bio portfolio companies from a financing strategy and public capital markets perspective. In this role you will work most closely with the Corporate and Business Development team, the Health-focused members of the Investing Team, and a16z portfolio company founders. The primary function of this role is to provide significant and sustained value to : (i) the a16z portfolio companies, (ii) the Bio Health Corporate and Business Development team, and (iii) the broader a16z team through cross-functional collaboration.

- Support the development of strategy and execution across equity and debt capital including assisting with financing strategy, positioning the Company, investor targeting, use of proceeds, deal structuring and negotiations, valuation / returns analyses, and IPO planning
- Focus on health technology portfolio companies, plus provide select support to bio portfolio companies from a financing strategy and public capital markets perspective
- Contribute to, expand and nurture a16z’s downstream investor relationships and make ongoing connections and insights across our portfolio

Minimum Qualifications
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $331,000-$386,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z Carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
