Overview
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) are undertaking a significant initiative to consolidate and modernize eligibility functions for several programs. The new Integrated Eligibility System (IES) aims to streamline medical program operations, improving service delivery to individuals and households. We are seeking a Software System Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of this critical system.
Key Responsibilities
- System Testing: Perform thorough system testing of the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) to validate its functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Test Case Development: Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive test cases and scenarios based on system requirements and functional specifications.
- Test Execution: Execute test cases, document results, and identify system defects to ensure quality standards are met.
- Defect Management: Utilize tools such as JIRA or JAMA to track, report, and manage system defects effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure system requirements align with testing objectives.
- Data Validation: Use SQL queries to validate data integrity and accuracy within the IES database.
- Adherence to SDLC: Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring compliance with testing and quality assurance best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation, including test plans, defect logs, and reports for effective tracking and review.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience in System Integration Testing (SIT) and end-to-end testing processes.
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA and JAMA.
- Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional exp services through innovative system solutions!

- Proven experience in gathering requirements and developing functional design documents for large-scale systems.
- Database Skills:
Hands-on experience with database administration, including query optimization, schema design, and data integration.
