Job description

Position summary:

Responsible for the general housekeeping of the DC warehouse, trailers and yard. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following tasks: performing cleaning duties; such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish, cleaning snow and/or debris from sidewalk. Notify management when need of routine repairs arise.

Position responsibilities/duties/functions/tasks:

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing or vacuuming floors using vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Emptying trash into compactors and dumpsters.
• Clean and restock restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Bailing cardboard and plastic.
• Work with water, commercial degreasers and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Follow procedures for the use of cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using electric pallet jacks and/or hand trucks.
• Rake leaves, sweep walks, mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
• Notify managers concerning the need for repairs.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spreading salt and sand.
• Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as luncheons and meetings.
• Use household grade Spray insecticides and foggers and traps to prevent insect and rodent infestation.

Essential skills and experience:

• Pallet Jack experience a plus
• Janitorial experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour

• Every weekend
