Role And Responsibilities
The MV Mechanical Designer at Kratos will be responsible for the production and maintenance of 3D CAD models and associated 2D drawings for electrical power products built at Kratos. Tasks include the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials, 3D modeling, and part drawing creation. Most tasks are done via CAD software throughout the life cycle of each project. Specification of quality flow-down requirements, project documentation, and creation of production-required assets. The Designer must work with a broad range of people to efficiently incorporate redlines into as-built drawings and make on-floor corrections to active projects. Establish rapport with clients, vendors, and co-workers throughout all levels of the company. Communication is key to this role’s success. With the above, the ideal Designer will promote and adhere to Code Orange, the Kratos creed.

PERFORMANCE BONUS
You will be eligible to receive a discretionary (i.e., non-guaranteed) annual bonus based on personal and company performance and goals achieved.

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or associate degree with 2 years relevant past work experience.
- Work experience tradeable for education
- Experience in 3D CAD programs.
- Designing sheet metal parts and copper bus (preferred Autodesk Inventor, but SolidWorks or equivalent will be considered)
- Experience generating manufacturing prints from 3D CAD models.
- Ability to read and understand different project requirements/codes and apply to the design of equipment.
- Experience in Switchboard/gear design
- Metal-clad, Medium-Voltage Switchgear design
- UL 891 knowledge
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects to balance.
- Autodesk Inventor Experience
- ERP experience a plus
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- ISO 9001 and Lean Six Sigma
