About The Role
As a Construction Manager for KOA, you’ll undertake an exciting role managing client site projects across the U.S. You’ll use your construction management expertise to oversee large industrial projects in a dynamic environment. Leading an on-site construction support team, you’ll ensure every detail is meticulously supervised. You’ll ensure compliance with design specifications, monitor schedules and costs, and maintain high-quality standards to deliver turnkey projects on time and within budget. Additionally, you’ll act as the primary liaison between various engineering disciplines and the client to tackle challenges that arise during the project.

About The Role

You’ll ensure compliance with design specifications, monitor schedules and costs, and maintain high-quality standards to deliver turnkey projects on time and within budget. Additionally, you’ll act as the primary liaison between various engineering disciplines and the client to tackle challenges that arise during the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the on-site construction management team, including safety officers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Support development of detailed plans that outline timelines, resources, and budget allocations for every phase of the project.
- Prepare and manage schedules that coordinate the activities of various team members and suppliers to maintain project efficiency and adjust for the constant dynamics of the construction process.
- Assist in the competitive bidding process with discipline contractors to secure appropriate contractors for the scope of work
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during the construction process, which could relate to delays, worker safety, supply chains, or client demands.
- Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues that could impact project success.
- Oversee change orders from contractors throughout the project to ensure they are justified and include sufficient detail to substantiate the cost and schedule impacts.
- Ensure that all construction activities adhere to legal regulations and safety standards to prevent accidents and legal challenges.
- Supervise construction procedures to ensure all standards are met without exceeding the budget.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders including clients, construction teams, and executives to update them on project progress and challenges.
- Travel up to 75% of the time to project sites across the U.S. to oversee project implementation and ensure proper oversight and project execution in the field.
- This position has the option to be virtual or based out of one of KOA’s offices across the U.S.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management or project management, with a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects on site.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager), PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification, and OSHA Certification or similar safety qualifications (preferred).
- Strong field experience with safety audits, quality control/quality assurance, and compliance with industry regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of contractor management (Union and Open Shop), including both field and remote management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets effectively, with a track record of staying within financial targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a passion for team success and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
