Job Summary
The Technical Associate II plays a crucial role in meeting or exceeding Kreher quality standards by assisting the technical team with limited supervision in all construction and maintenance activities, and in performing duties relative to the design, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic equipment. This role involves learning how best to fix, install, and maintain electrical components at Wayne County Eggs.
Job Responsibilities
The main objectives of the Technical Associate II's work are:
- Support the activities of the Technical Team within all construction and maintenance activities.
- Understand their role in servicing the customer through efficiency and quality in installing and repairing electrical components.
- Continually develop knowledge of fixing, installing, and maintaining electrical components for the egg farm.
- Work under limited supervision and independently, where appropriate, in the electrical installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment.
- Keep informed of mechanical and plumbing systems as they relate to electrical/electronic components.
- Complete work orders following proper Egg Farm standards, including dates, times, thorough explanations, people involved, problem resolution, etc., and submit to the technical manager.
- Work with and train any Technical Associate I teammates in the proper methods for repairing and conducting preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment on the farm.
- Look for opportunities to eliminate re-work, waste, etc., and inform management of potential hazards.
- Continuously learn and apply new methods and technologies.
- Maintain the shop area and equipment used for repairs.
- Show flexibility; cross-train within the electrical department, move to different areas, etc., as needed.
- Look for opportunities to improve safety, prevent accidents, and help make the egg farm a safe place to work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A Technical Associate II must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily, including:
- Able to work under limited supervision to troubleshoot and understand capacitors on a single-phase electric motor.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on motor power circuits.
- Replace existing VFD components with existing programs.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on PLCs.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on electrical power circuits and electrical control circuits.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on Ethernet, Modbus, Modbus Plus, and fiber networks.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on S08 communications protocol.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler/hot water systems.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on gas space heaters.
- Perform intermediate-level repairs and installations on raceways and wire/conductors.
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics on electrical panels.
- Has a basic working knowledge of the systems at WCE and how they are integrated.
- Effective both working independently and as a member of a team.
- Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Will be required to work overtime as needed.
- Has a 'can-do' positive attitude.
Education and Experience
- An associate's degree in Electric Technology or equivalent training and experience is required.
- Must have a strong knowledge and aptitude with computers.
- Takes part in an active rotating "on-call" program where you will be able to get to the farm within 15 minutes.
