Nature of Work:
The Audio Engineer is responsible for the creative and technical quality of all audio and elements of the production he or she is working on. The Audio Engineer will be editing, reformatting, and enhancing the audio quality. The Audio Engineer will also be responsible for managing the post-production audio process of the productions assigned. They will collaborate with the Producers, Editors and Assistant Editors on projects and as part of the corporate structure.
Examples of work performed:
- Plans post-production for projects, including audio for spots, teases, series, and original projects.
- Edits and creates original audio programming with in-house and external producers.
- Performs duties like voiceovers, audio mixing, mastering, and live sessions as directed.
- Stays updated on new software/hardware.
- Fosters a team environment, providing career development, mentoring, and feedback.
- Collaborates with the team to brainstorm and create new producible concepts and ideas.

Qualifications:
- 5-7 years’ experience as an audio editor in a broadcast facility.
- Proficient in non-linear post-production (Avid Media Composer/Symphony preferred), Pro Tools, mixing desk, MIDI interface, ISDN, RTS communications, phone interface, remote recording, and other relevant equipment.
- Experience as lead mixer/editor for national/regional short form commercial productions.
- Thorough understanding of production pipeline from concept to delivery, including offline and online editing.
- Excellent project management skills and creative editing in both supervised and unsupervised environments.
- Team player who is methodical, creative, accurate, and capable of editing/mixing short to long form productions.
- Independent thinker and idea-generator within a team.
- Strong editorial judgment, creative abilities, communication skills, and leadership.
- Ability to manage and meet client expectations.
- Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred
- Four Year Degree in Broadcasting/Communications, or an equivalent technical degree
- Ability to use His or Her voice for VO Talent for certain projects
- Able to compose/score custom music for our programs/projects
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

- Expertise in audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro).
- Knowledge of audio recording equipment and techniques.
- Proficiency in mixing, mastering, and sound design.

- Ability to ensure consistency and quality in all audio outputs.
- Meticulous approach to editing and sound balancing.
- Strong creative abilities to enhance audio content.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation:
- Base salary range $35,000-$40,000 per annum/hour
