Position Summary:
Plan, organize, and direct the overall activities of the IS Department to provide ongoing system and technical support for the company. Provide directions, recommendations, and support necessary to effectively utilize technology. Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the support of the PDI/RMS accounting system.
- Responsible for the support of the Radiant POS/ Scanning system.
- Prioritize and schedule the individual workload for the department.
- Responsible for the overall operation of the networks of the company, both Local Area Networking (LAN) and Wide Area Networking (WAN).
- Responsible for the installation, training, and Help Desk support for store computer systems and attached devices.
- Responsible for project planning, budgeting, developing cost justification of new technology projects for the benefit of the entire organization.
- Develop long-range plans including evolution of technical capabilities and the hardware/software requirements for implementation.
- Provide the direction for evaluation, acquisition and setup, for personal computer installations.
- Assist in the development of a user education program on the use of MIS facilities and all supported packages.
- Maintain a data security system, which will minimize the risk of data destruction or unauthorized access.
- Work within guidelines set by corporate policies and procedures and security policies.
- Maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for network.
- Service and meet the needs of the users in unpredictable and sometimes deadline-oriented situations, such as computer malfunction and obtaining timely information.
- Liaison with Kroger Companies Data Center for WAN connectivity, software versions and revisions, and division-wide information systems policies and procedures.
- Contribute on both a Technical and Managerial level on a daily basis.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of progressive IS managerial experience.
- Ability to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, maintain and repair all other hardware devices and software packages deemed necessary to the duties or functions performed by management and staff in the course of developing a world-class management information system environment.
- A strong working knowledge of design, programming, and maintenance of computer software and hardware, in a Microsoft based, PC networking environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
