Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in stock counts, and optimizing supply chain processes. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management systems and proficiency in data analysis tools. The Inventory Control Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations

Duties

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts; investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Receive purchase orders when necessary, using the computer. Examine new product received, assessing product for quality, size, etc. Communicate poor quality products to buyers
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
  • Coordinate department interim and year-end physical inventory counts
  • Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment, as needed
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Record and monitor spoilage in the warehouse and by the route sales personal. Report to management any spoilage due to abuse or neglect
  • Examine, inspect and report worn or defective stock items
  • Dispose or return damaged or defective items
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, and goods used or issued
  • Perform item maintenance, set up new item codes and update customer prices
  • Maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas
  • Work closely with warehouse management to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Provide customer service
  • Provide assistance or direction to stockroom, warehouse, or route sales personnel
  • Take customer and retail store calls and orders
  • Assist the accounting department on cycle count adjustments; provide other information/documentation as needed
  • Invoice product to customers and retail store locations
  • Compile and enter future orders for customers and retail store locations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in inventory management or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft office)
  • 1-2 years experience in cut flowers warehouse or inventory processes (preferred)
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record (preferred)
  • Experience in sourcing materials and vendor management is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
