What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resin Materials Manager position at Kruger Family Industries?
SUMMARY
The Resin Materials Manager develops and maintains purchasing relationships with all resin suppliers. They are responsible for the purchasing of all resin and concentrates as well as assisting the VP of Supply Chain with pricing/contract negotiations. This person needs to understand market fluctuations and make appropriate decisions regarding volumes and timing of all resin materials for the best overall benefit to the company’s bottom line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for the direction, negotiation and procurement of resin raw materials for all plants.
Responsible for the inventory levels, turns and continuous improvements of resin raw material.
Knowledgeable of all contracts, major site service agreements, system's contracts and major leases.
Responsible for the mentoring and training of multiple direct reports.
Monitors company purchasing policies and procedures.
Coordinates monitoring of suppliers for site.
Knowledgeable of suppliers within region and of market influence.
Understands product plans and life cycles for products produced onsite.
Evaluates projects in order to apply appropriate purchasing financial concepts as related.
Assists in the preparation of instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, MBA desirable; five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CPM certification preferred; experience with ERP/MRP.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Understands financial reports – income statement, cash flow and balance sheet.
