POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Production Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing and controlling of activities related to the management of mechanical and electrical services. He develops and executes operational and preventive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal service to internal customers. He ensures that health & safety, environmental and budgetary management are central to the department’s mission. He also ensures the development of the members under his supervision to support the continuous improvement process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assumes leadership in health and safety with the plant management team by setting targets and establishing processes.
- Ensures alignment between maintenance and operations so that everyone is focused on the same objectives;
- Provide his team with a good structure with clear instructions, rigorous standards and good communication tools;
- Actively involved in the process of carrying out maintenance work, from planning and scheduling to completion and post mortem to minimize production downtime. He ensures that out-of-schedule requests are justified;
- Ensure that an effective Contractor’s Policy is in place and is being executed and followed;
- Monitors daily issues in each of the departments and ensures good connections and good communication. Ensures continuous operations support (24/7 or as required) through the presence of up maintenance teams;
- Manages the implementation of best maintenance management practices (e.g. reliability based on the condition of critical equipment and ensures its sustainability through an audit system);
- Questions and challenges manpower needs and material expenses to ensure cost control;
- Periodically reviews the performance of his team members. Ensures improvement through individual and team development plans;
- Monitors labor maintenance costs and develops adaptation strategies to the new realities of the industry;
- Ensures good corrective actions in health, safety, quality, production and the environment to find and correct the root causes;
- Any other tasks as requested .

QUALIFICATIONS______________________________________________________
ACADEMIC
- Bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or other relevant concentration.
EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years of experience in a similar maintenance management role as well as supervising staff. Corrugated Industry experience an asset;
- Experience of implementing reliability and continuous improvement maintenance tools and strategy;
- Experience in implementing and maintaining a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
- Excellent command of computer systems, tools and software (Microsoft Suite, JDEdwards Maintenance Module);
