What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dust Remediation Building and Grounds position at Kruger Products?
The Building and Grounds positions are part of a team that has accountability for the cleanliness and upkeep of the paper-making and converting areas. Incumbents will report directly to the Facilities Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
Building and Grounds employees will accept personal responsibility at all times for themselves and assist where they can with the safety of other team members and contractors. Appropriate safety behaviors include, but are not limited to such things as :
Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery
Reporting all injuries and near misses and following up in a timely manner
Recognizing hazards and anticipating danger
Not taking inappropriate risks
Actively participating in accident incident investigations
Active participation in team safety meetings, discussions, and training opportunities
Operations
Common duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Maintaining property and assigned areas of debris
Emptying trash bins outside Facility entrances and parking lots
Operating forklift with rotating attachment, aerial lift, scissor lift, and small machinery
Operating gas equipment to maintain Property and Facility (i.e.. Lawn Mowers, Blowers, Weed eaters, Saws, Vacuums and power tools etc..)
Moving furniture or large items using moving equipment such as a dolly
Climbing ladders to access roofs and to complete inspections and / or cleaning of equipment assigned areas
Using hand tools to repair and build minor projects
Erecting tents and setting up table and chairs to support company events on and off site
Spreading salt in area parking lots and on pedestrian walkways during icy conditions
Equipment Maintenance
Building and Grounds employees will work to maintain the integrity of the facility and operating equipment to ensure on-going safe, reliable operations. This includes such things as :
Maintaining housekeeping standards, e.g. ensure periodic clean up of buildings and ground cage and storage area
Performing daily inspections of equipment to ensure safe operations of equipment
Reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to the appropriate maintenance resource to ensure continuous operations of equipment
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work in a Team environment
Committed to safety & organizational goals
A record of stable & continuous employment
Professional communication skills
Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be minimum 18 years of age
Ability to lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders and stairs, work from heights, and stand for continuous periods of time
Ability to work 8 hour straight day shifts Monday through Friday, plus overtime, & weekends / holidays when needed
Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy, & high volume machine production area
Ability to work outside in hot or cold conditions and inclement weather
Ability & willingness to work safely & wear PPE as required
Meeting Attendance expectations
Ability to complete Forklift and Aerial lift certification after hire
Familiarity with small maintenance / repairs and both manual and power tools
