What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Manager position at Kruger Products?
The Training Manager provides leadership and overall direction for the Training Program. This encompasses program management of training and development including strategic development, identification, and assessment of organizational needs to drive training initiatives.
REPORTING
The Training Manager reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for the development of the Strategic Training Plan for the mill as well as execution of the plan.
- Manages the Training Department including supervisory responsibility of the Training Coordinators and Administrative Support.
- Manage all operational aspects of training and development with ongoing and ad hoc programs, including new hire Kruger Onboarding, Safety and Product training, as well as Supervisor / Management Training
- Ensures all regulatory training requirements are maintained, delivered to the appropriate employees and records are documented
- Coordinates with Training Team to manage training courses, resources, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia solutions, and other educational materials
- Communicates with Management Team to evaluate needs of employees with regards to learning, discusses Kruger policies and training gaps on an on-going basis to keep training current and effective
- Utilize learning management system and other technologies / reporting to maintain ongoing knowledge and tracking of employee training & development
- Develop and manage the site's training budget
- Analyzes training needs to develop new training programs; modifies and improves existing programs to maximize operational and fiscal efficiency
- While technical training will continue to be owned by the operational / maintenance departments, the Training Manager is responsible for partnering with these areas to ensure technical training is aligned with the overall mill training strategy and organization needs
- Responsible for professional development of the Training Department Team. This includes the development of goals and objectives and execution of annual performance management process.
- Updates Training content as appropriate, adapts to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies
- Work closely with area / department hourly trainers in developing and delivering their curriculums
- All Supervisory personnel are responsible to ensure that their employees have the needed competencies to apply the operating procedures so that environmental controls are adequately implemented
