Job Description
As the Field Event Manager, your primary responsibility is to generate high-quality leads for the sales team while efficiently managing the field marketing staff in a cost-effective manner. You will oversee all operations within the field marketing department, including the recruitment, training, and hiring of new team members. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain personal production targets that help offset the costs associated with the manager's salary and related expenses.
Please note that all responsibilities outlined herein are focused on field marketing activities and exclude retail operations unless otherwise specified.
Team Leadership
Lead and Motivate : Inspire team members to meet and exceed both daily team and personal goals.
Assist Team Members : Provide support and guidance to promoters as needed.
Set Up / Tear Down : Coordinate, oversee and assist logistics team in setting up / tearing down Home shows and larger events requiring kitchen cabinet modules and countertop displays. Personally setting up / tearing down smaller table top events and some outdoor tent events.
Shift Management
Strategic Allocation : Assign promoters to shifts based on their availability, skills, and the specific requirements of each event.
Attendance Tracking : Monitor promoter attendance to ensure all shifts are covered.
Scheduling
Schedule Distribution : Provide the finalized schedule to all promoters at least two weeks in advance to ensure proper planning.
Daily Stats Reporting : Track attendance and performance metrics (sets per hour) and report these to the Director of Event Marketing.
Performance Monitoring
Weekly Scorecard Updates : Maintain and update the weekly scorecard to reflect team performance and metrics.
One-on-One Meetings : Conduct individual meetings with each promoter to discuss performance, provide feedback, and set goals.
Recruiting, Training and Development
Recruiting : Recruit, interview and hire new promoters as needed, following procedures and standards set forth by the Company.
Field Training Assistance : Help train new promoters in the field to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
Customer Interaction
Engagement with Potential Customers : Interact with potential customers and set up appointments for free design consultations, ensuring a professional demeanor at all times. This may occasionally include working shifts at retail locations such as Meijer and Costco.
Maintain Professionalism : Uphold professional interactions with customers, fellow employees, and show promoters.
Event and Workspace Management
Workstation Maintenance : Ensure that the work station is clean, organized, functional, and presentable at all times.
Vehicle Maintenance : Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained.
Inventory and Administrative Duties
Physical Inventory : Conduct regular physical inventory of promotional materials to ensure adequate supplies.
Paperwork Submission : Complete and submit all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Expense Tracking : Keep accurate records of any expenses incurred in the field and ensure operations remain within the department's budget.
Able to pass a drug screening and background check.
