Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Divisional Controller and will be responsible for monthly close activities for the business unit, as well as assisting in sales & use tax filings and government surveys. Additionally, and as needed, the Senior Accountant may also supervise AP and AR functions. The candidate should have a solid understanding of financial accounting principles and able to interpret corporate guidance and procedures. The successful candidate should be self-motivated to complete day-to-day activities without much direct supervision and can communicate well with others throughout the organization. The Senior Accountant needs to be very detail oriented, able to handle large volume of data with a high level of accuracy, have strong excel skills, and be team oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for fixed assets and lease accounting, prepaids and certain accruals, along with the accurate preparation of journal entries.
- Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations compliant with internal policies.
- Prepare and input required monthly journal entries and reconciliations, along with required backup.Conduct initial review of financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness during close process.
- Assist with loading of monthly financial reports and support statements to corporate consolidation software.
- upport monthly/quarterly local, state, and federal government survey reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Responsible for monitoring cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, any discrepancies.
- Prepare documentation as needed in support of external audits.
- If requested, supervise AP and AR functions, as needed.
- Handle preparation of third-party sales commission reports and record appropriate accruals.
- Support Divisional Controller in ad hoc requests as assigned.

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-7 years' experience in financial accounting/cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with the use of ERP systems (PLEX would be a plus) and ability to pull detail data to support account analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with an advanced proficiency in Excel to be able to analyze large amounts of data with speed and accuracy.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and planning skills required to effectively and quickly respond to inquiries.
- Attention to detail.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Energetic, passionate and positive can-do attitude a must.
