We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities for JBK Enterprises. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, cash flow management, and overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the company while implementing best practices for efficiency and compliance. You will be working in close contact with the CEO on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee the AP/AR processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Manage cash flow, credit policies, and vendor relationships.
- Implement best practices to optimize working capital.
Tax & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for audits and filings.
- Maintain accurate financial records for audits and regulatory reviews.
Payroll & Employee Benefits:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage financial aspects of employee benefits and compensation.
Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with executives to develop financial strategies for company growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting or financial management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Other: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
