Icon Industrial is searching for a Safety & Risk Management Specialist to join their growing team. Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this role involves moderate travel to support clients on-site. Primary Responsibilities:
- Safety Audits: Coordinate and conduct quarterly site audits, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.
- Client Consulting: Serve as the go-to safety consultant, offering on-site assessments and best practices for client operations.
- Training & Development: Develop and deliver safety training programs, including orientations for new and existing employees.
- Field Presence: Foster a proactive safety culture by building relationships with field teams and site managers.
- Incident Investigation & Workers’ Comp: Assist in incident investigations, manage workers' compensation cases, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Communication & Reporting: Provide leadership with routine dashboard reports to track safety performance and drive informed decisions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain records and ensure adherence to client, company, and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Safety, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 5 years in safety, risk management, or industrial operations preferred; new graduates from safety programs are encouraged to apply.
- Certifications: Safety and/or Risk Management certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with workers' compensation, loss control, and safety program development.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence others.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 40% of the time; a valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.
- Willing to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights as needed.
Work Environment
This position is based in Cedar Rapids, IA, with frequent travel (up to 40%) to client job sites throughout the region. On-site visits involve conducting safety inspections, coordinating with field crews, training employees, and engaging with clients.
