At-Risk Youth Specialist
Basic Function and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Director, work closely with at-risk youth (specifically those placed at Healing Prairie Farm), those eligible for diversion, and other clients at the agency. The specialist will collaborate within and outside of the agency to develop comprehensive plans for community or school reentry and connect youth with essential resources.
Characteristic Duties:
- Provide daily groups and referrals to UAY services at Healing Prairie Farm.
- Coordinate UAY groups at Healing Prairie Farm.
- Support Youth Engagement Director in services and plans for Diversion-eligible youth to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system.
- Work with internal teams and external partners, including schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers, to coordinate care and resources.
- Identify and connect youth and their families with community resources, such as counseling, educational support, and housing services.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of at-risk youth within the community and the agency.
- Complete necessary paperwork and assist with quarterly reports.
- Work with a team approach, collaborating with the Youth Development Team and other UAY staff through participation in weekly team meetings, and staff meetings.
Related Duties:
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Intervention Program Director.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of resources, services, and opportunities available to youth and families.
Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth or in a similar role. Strong communication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
A Valid Driver’s License is required, with at least 5 years driving experience.
Compensation: This is a full-time position. The starting salary is $47,000. Benefits include health insurance flex spending, life/disability insurance, generous vacation package, wellness program and retirement.
