Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies.
- Coordinate the cleaning of the projects and deep cleaning including room carpets, upholstery, draperies, window cleaning, elevator doors and tracks.
- Monitors vacant rooms, check out rooms, and stayovers and communicates with the front office pertinent information.
- Monitor and control accurate lost and found program.
- Promote the rules and regulations of the hotel intended for the safety and welfare of guests.
- Monitor quality and cleanliness standards and meets the expectations of the guests on a daily basis.
- Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Manages lobby areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, and cleanliness.
- Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Assist in the selection of talented, qualified, and service oriented individuals to embody the core values of the hotel’s culture.
- Supervise and manage employees in support of the day-to-day operations.
- Schedule associates for housekeeping operations and manage payroll and productivity.
- Ensures associates have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to perform their jobs.
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
- Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Train and develop associates on 4 Keys service standards, technical skills, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
- Ensure all associates are safety conscious and trained in safe work practices.
- Facilitate new hire training and department training.
- Ensure associates exceed service and cleanliness standards.
- Fosters open channels of communication between all employees.
- Participates in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed.
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among associates.
- Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
Work Hours
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
- Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.
Experience and Education:
- 5 years of hotel housekeeping and two years of management/supervisory experience
Physical Requirements:
The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently to assist guests
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
- Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
- Ascend and descend a ladder
Salary range based on experience $67,000 - $70,000 per year.
