Job Title: Director, Regional Development

Role Overview

As the Director, Regional Development, you will drive client engagement, revenue growth, and industry presence, with a focus on hospitality interior design and branding. This highly visible, client-facing role requires 10 years of experience in business development within the A/E and/or hospitality-related industries. You will lead client outreach, attend key industry conferences, and develop strategic partnerships to expand market influence. This role is ideal for a proactive, results-driven leader with strong client relationships and a passion for driving revenue and business growth. Key Job Functions

  • Client Engagement & Business Growth
  1. Act as the primary client liaison, strengthening relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  2. Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies, presentations, and in-person meetings.
  3. Identify potential strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance service offerings and expand business opportunities.
  4. Maintain an established network of contacts within the hospitality industry, including developers, owners, architects, brands, and operators.
  • Conference & Industry Presence
  1. Attend key hospitality and real estate industry conferences to ensure a strong firm representation to increase visibility within the industry.
  2. Identify speaking opportunities for studio leaders and share insights to inform business strategies.
  3. Build industry relationships through sponsorships, networking, and professional organizations.
  • Revenue Strategy & Business Planning
  1. Define annual revenue goals and lead business development strategies with studio leaders.
  2. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the hospitality market.
  3. Manage the sales pipeline, updating targets and adjusting efforts for maximum impact.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Risk Management
  1. Work with business development, marketing, and PR teams to align messaging and outreach.
  2. Use a Go/No-Go framework to assess opportunities and mitigate risks.
  3. Track and report on sales activity, pipeline development, and business growth. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on performance and market trends.
  4. Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to develop tailored proposals, presentations, and pitches that align with the client’s vision and business objectives.

  • Deep understanding of the hospitality design and branding market, including trends, key players, and emerging opportunities within related market sectors.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and achieve sales targets with strong negotiation skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients, attend industry events, and oversee new business opportunities.

  • Continuously strive to improve knowledge by keeping updated on industry trends and competitor practices.
  • Display a positive attitude about the work to be done, staff, co-workers, clients, management, and firm policies.
  • Use creativity and imagination to develop new insights into situations and apply new solutions to problems.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across different geographies, disciplines, leadership levels, and with a wide range of personalities and working styles.
  • Proven experience using CRM as a value-added tool. 
  • Advanced proficiency using the following software:
    • MS Office
    • Adobe Suite

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a business development capacity within the A/E/C industry, preferably for a multi-disciplinary national architecture firm.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.

The wage range that the Company expects to pay is $135,000 - $150,000 annually.
