Job Title: Senior Designer (Architecture)

Role Overview

As a senior designer, you will manage the project design and lead others to ensure high quality, on-time deliverables. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience over their career, continuously working on projects requiring increasing complexity and standards of quality.  You must show effective time management skills and full awareness of the impact you have on the project budget and timeline. If you’re a talented and creative designer with leadership experience, then this is the role for you. 

Key Job Functions

• Lead communication and coordination efforts with clients and consultant team. 
• Author design concepts and lead their development through schematic design, design development and construction documentation.
• Manage projects and lead others. Take time to direct and mentor junior staff. 
• Assist in technical aspects to ensure design integrity.
• Act as a point of contact for the client, maintain client contacts and build new client and industry contacts.
• Perform preliminary code analysis. Research new code and zoning regulations as necessary. 
• Compile and submit projects to city planning departments.
• Attend public hearings and agency meetings if necessary. 
• Review and participate in project billings.
• Consistently verify accuracy of own work and the work of others.
• Educate and mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to budget and scheduling review meetings.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to research and apply various codes and ordinances.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and maintain effective communication and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, direct work of self and others.
• Proficiency using the following software:
  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • MS Office 
  • Revit (not required, but preferred)

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
• Current or previous experience in a similar or equivalent role. 
• 4-year Architectural degree preferred and/or combination of required education and experience.
• Understanding of building codes, including national and state local codes.
• Specialized knowledge of various product types, code requirements, and construction practices and how to apply, detail, and specify them.

The wage range that the Company expects to pay is $80,000 - 93,000 annually.
