Lead Carpenter

Job Overview: The Lead Carpenter is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of repairs and improvements to buildings, props, signs, and homes at Kualoa Ranch. This role includes leading and training a two-person crew, ensuring efficient teamwork and high-quality results.   Key Responsibilities: Carpentry - Lead and execute general and finish carpentry tasks, including but not limited to repairing railings, stairs, decks, walls, roofs, constructing signs, props, small buildings, and more. Work Orders - Receive and execute reactive repair tasks as directed by management, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Project Leadership - Oversee various projects, including repairing movie props, constructing new buildings, and securing or extending the life of existing buildings and props. Additional Tasks - Perform related tasks such as painting, patching, minor plumbing or electrical repairs, masonry work, and small-scale landscaping as needed. Job Documentation - Accurately track time and materials used for each job. Residential Assistance - Occasionally support residential projects as required. Role Adaptation - Duties may evolve over time to align with the changing needs of Kualoa Ranch.   Minimum Qualifications: 7 years of carpentry experience, with a preference for expertise in finish/detail work. At least 2 years of leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to train and guide a team effectively. Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting 50-75 lbs., and working at heights on ladders and roofs. Excellent customer service skills for engaging with guests of Kualoa Ranch and residential tenants. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and quickly solve problems as they arise. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.   Schedule: Full-time position with open availability, including weekends and holidays. Occasional on-call work required after hours.
