Salary Range: $75K - $85K Depending on Experience

Job Description Summary
The Human Resources Generalist responsibilities include supporting the organization through work in several areas of human resources, which may include coordinating employment activities, receiving and acting on employee complaints, administering employee records, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulation, recommending and coordinating employee training activities and administering compensation, benefits, and performance programs, and processing of payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Within specific limits, makes independent decisions regarding the planning, organizing, and scheduling of the work involved.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
- Assists in developing department goals, objectives, systems and establishment departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll/HRIS administration ensuring accuracy, security, and legal compliance
- Process employee time off programs such as FMLA, leave of absences, and other paid time off
- Create and maintain employee and human resources records and reports while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws
- Maintain and systematize records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. File EEO-1 reports as necessary to comply with state and federal laws.
- Ensure required employment posters are current and available to all employees
- Assists with the preparation of the annual budget.
Training and Development
- Distribute and track performance reviews. Assist with the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans and employee development programs.
- Assists with the development of an employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, cross-training and maintenance of employee training records.
Employment
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects candidates to fill vacant positions.
- Maintains applicant tracking records for each position.
- Prepare job analysis and descriptions to meet company needs and comply with applicable laws
- Responsible for managing the internship program, including recruitment, onboarding, and providing ongoing support to ensure a positive and productive experience for interns.
Employee Relations
- Assists with the development of Human Resources polices for the company with regard to employee relations
- Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws
- Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Assist with employee and company events such as lunches, service award programs, and farewell and retirement functions.
Benefits
- Provides day-to-day benefits administration services such as enrollments/changes, terminations, COBRA, premium payments, communication to employees and problem resolution.
- Develops and schedules benefits orientation and other benefits training
- Process 401k rollovers, loans, distributions and communication with employees
- Administers disability and worker’s compensation claims.
- Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
- Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
Organization Development
- Assists with the carrying out of a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
- Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.
- Assists with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
- Experience with OSHA regulations and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Effective oral and written communication.

Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organization Development or equivalent
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred, not required.
