Key Responsibilities
- ETL Mastery: Craft and refine ETL processes that power our data warehouse and business intelligence while seamlessly integrating internal and external data.
- SQL Innovation: Develop and enhance SQL procedures, triggers, views, functions, and reports to elevate critical business systems.
- Data Integrity Champion: Analyze and resolve data integrity challenges to ensure our data remains trustworthy and accurate.
- Proactive Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on system performance, managing configurations to guarantee optimal availability and efficiency.
- Backup & Recovery Expert: Execute robust backup strategies and recovery plans to safeguard our valuable data assets.
- Query Optimization Wizard: Optimize SQL queries and manage indexing to boost database performance.
- Performance Tuning Guru: Fine-tune system performance to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
- Production Support Hero: Provide critical support for production systems, tackling database issues, recovery needs, and emergency situations around the clock.
Skills and Experience
- Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 or newer) and proven expertise in database design, development, and data warehousing methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Transact-SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions, along with experience in automating data import/export using SQL Server tools like SSIS and BCP.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze and optimize query execution plans, resolve locking and deadlock issues, and enhance overall database performance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work during non-production hours for system changes and updates.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and data integration using Web Services/SFTP.
- Familiarity with virtual server environments and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as C#, PowerShell, and JSON
- Technical leadership and the ability to mentor teammates.
