The Tasting Room Operations and Retail Specialist at Kuleana Rum Works is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tasting room and retail space. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory, and driving sales. The Specialist will create a welcoming environment for guests, provide product knowledge, and ensure the smooth operation of the tasting room, restaurant and events – while embracing the company’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:
· Customer Service:
o Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service.
o Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly.
o Conduct tastings, classes and tours and provide detailed information about Kuleana Rum products.
o Manage tasting room schedule of events.
· Staff Management:
o Recruit, train, and supervise tasting room staff.
o Assist with Rum Shack floor coverage and staff management.
o Embrace and nurture Kuleana Rum Works’ core values.
o Schedule staff shifts and manage time-off requests.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Tasting Room Operations
o Manage the Bottle Sales Program and KRS Rum Tasting Program
o Create and manage the KRS Retail Program including online
o Act as an ambassador for KRW rum and a lead Rum Tender
o Train staff to meet and exceed goals for Bottle and Retail Programs
o KRS floor management and operational assistance as needed
· Sales and Inventory:
o Drive Bottle and retail sales.
o Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring products are well-stocked.
o Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
o Process sales transactions and manage the point-of-sale system.
· Operations:
o Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
o Coordinate with the marketing team to plan and execute events and promotions.
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
· Financial Administration:
o Track and report daily sales and financial transactions.
o Assist with budgeting and financial planning for the tasting room.
· Communication:
o Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors and customers.
o Communicate effectively with team members and management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
