ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The HR Generalist will oversee and execute the daily operational aspects of the HR function, including HRIS management, onboarding, compliance, and serve as backup talent acquisition support. This role is essential in enhancing the employee experience, ensuring policy compliance, and driving operational efficiency across HR processes. The HR Generalist will focus on implementing and maintaining best-in-class programs and initiatives while upholding accuracy and consistency in HR operations. As a key contributor to the HR team, this role will support Kura’s growth and evolving organizational needs through hands-on execution and collaboration with other HR functions. This position reports to the Director of HR Operations and works closely with the entire HR team.
HRIS Ownership
- Manage HRIS (UKG), including system entries, workflows, approvals, and setting up performance reviews.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR files within the HRIS (UKG), ensuring secure storage, access, and compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Lead system integrations and act as the HRIS expert, ensuring process scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Director of HR Operations to identify process improvement opportunities.
Onboarding & Intern Program
- Oversee and continuously enhance the onboarding program to ensure a best-in-class experience.
- Manage the intern program, including recruiting, onboarding, and program development.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Act as a values ambassador and culture role model across the organization.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including helping with company events and recognition programs.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Act as the first point of contact for employee benefit and leave inquiries.
- Assist with open enrollment and benefits-related communications, participating in the process to ensure a seamless experience for employees.
Administrative & Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Manage the HR inbox, responding to employee inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Oversee the Coupa purchase order system for HR contracts and MSAs.
- Schedule training and development initiatives.
- Supports DEI committee with scheduling and budget.
Talent Acquisition Support
- Assist with talent acquisition efforts as needed, including resume screening, conducting reference checks and scheduling.
Payroll Liaison
- Serve as the HR payroll liaison, ensuring accurate and timely communication of payroll-related updates and changes to the payroll team.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Serve as the Safety Committee Secretary, managing workers' compensation administration.
- Administer mandatory training programs (e.g., harassment prevention) via the Emtrain platform.
- Assist with policy updates, ensuring compliance and uniformity across the organization.
- Manage and update job descriptions across the organization, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
- Maintain and update organizational charts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company structure.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in HR, with a focus on HR operations and employee engagement.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, UKG preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- High attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience in biotech environment or high growth environment.
- Appetite for leveraging AI solutions for HR Optimization.
The base range for an HR Generalist is $82,067 - $100,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.
