What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Events Manager position at Kuros Biosciences?
Summary:
With 50 meetings and events per year Kuros needs a senior-level professional to ensure we are executing, negotiating best prices, and getting the most value out of the Company’s investment for events. The current team has reached capacity and the level of skillset required does not currently exist within the team.
Responsibilities:
- National and Regional Tradeshows, Surgeon VIPs including contracts, Sales and Marketing meetings, Company level events
- Event planning, design, and production while managing all project delivery elements within time and budget limits
- Liaise with internal clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction
- Conduct research, gather information, and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, attendees, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials
- Manage arrival/departure manifests and communicate with vendors and clients
- Provide feedback and periodic event impact to stakeholders
- Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
- Ensure compliance with compliance, legal, health and safety obligations
- Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities
- Cooperate with Marketing and Public Relations to promote and publicize event
- Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
- Conduct pre-and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
- Build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts while crafting and implementing the creative and logistical aspects of all events
- Remain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production, and proactively identify and solve operational challenges
- Locate resources, visit sites, and lead pre-event meetings to help staff make decisions about event design
- Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event review; manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown; and ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all phases and troubleshoot any issues that may arise on event day.
Required skills and qualifications
- Proven experience as an Events Planner or Organizer (preferably a certified event planner)
- Impressive portfolio of previously managed events (tradeshows, educational events, sales meetings)
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle pressure and make good decisions quickly
- MS Office proficiency
- BS in Event Management or related Event Planner certification
- Travel: up to 40%
- Willing to submit references from previous clients
